how to make heart shaped eggs without cookie cutter

You can make heart-shaped eggs without using a cookie cutter by using a simple and creative method. Here’s how:

Ingredients and Tools:

  • Eggs
  • A small, clean empty milk or juice carton
  • Scissors
  • Cooking oil or non-stick cooking spray
  • A knife
  • A frying pan
  • Spatula

Instructions:

  1. Prepare the Milk Carton:
    • Rinse and clean a small milk or juice carton thoroughly. Cut off the top and bottom of the carton so that you have a rectangular piece of carton.
  2. Cut Out a Heart Shape:
    • Flatten the carton and use scissors to cut out a heart shape from the carton. This will serve as your DIY heart-shaped mold.
  3. Preheat the Pan:
    • Place a frying pan on the stove and preheat it over medium-low heat.
  4. Oil the Pan:
    • Lightly grease the pan with cooking oil or non-stick cooking spray to prevent the eggs from sticking.
  5. Place the Mold in the Pan:
    • Carefully place the heart-shaped carton mold in the center of the greased frying pan. Make sure it’s stable and level.
  6. Crack the Eggs:
    • Crack an egg into a small bowl or directly into the heart-shaped carton mold in the pan. The carton will help contain the egg white and yolk in the desired shape.
  7. Cook the Egg:
    • Allow the egg to cook within the heart-shaped mold. You can cover the pan with a lid to help the top of the egg cook more evenly.
  8. Adjust the Cooking Time:
    • Depending on your preference, you can cook the egg to your desired level of doneness. For a sunny-side-up egg with a runny yolk, it may take about 2-3 minutes. If you prefer your yolk fully cooked, you can cook it longer.
  9. Carefully Remove the Mold:
    • Once the egg is cooked to your liking, use a spatula to carefully lift the heart-shaped mold out of the pan. Be cautious as it might be hot.
  10. Serve and Enjoy:
    • Place the heart-shaped egg on a plate and serve it as desired. You can use it as a lovely addition to a breakfast dish or enjoy it on its own.

Repeat the process for as many heart-shaped eggs as you’d like. This method allows you to create heart-shaped eggs without the need for a cookie cutter, and it adds a special touch to your breakfast or brunch.
